In order to implement gender responsive DRR policies, it is essential to strengthen women’s leadership skills and capacities as well as raise awareness of the importance of gender perspectives amongst DRR officials.
Dr. Cheryl Anderson has written a comprehensive summary of gender and DRR training programs from around the world and lessons from the 3.11 disasters in Japan as well as other international examples are also included.
